Sir George Knowles Memorial Prize

Each year the ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃCollege of Law, Governance and Policy may offer one award known as the Sir George Knowles Memorial Prize (‘The Award’).

Overview

The objective of the prize is to recognise the student(s) who has demonstrated a high level of academic excellence through being awarded the best result in a minimum of four law courses at the ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃCollege of Law, Governance and Policy as shown by the award of the overall highest average mark.

The value of the prize awarded is $500. If two or more students achieve the same top mark, the prize awarded in that year shall be divided equally between them.

The prize will be on offer annually unless otherwise advised.

Funding for this prize has been provided by the family of Sir George Knowles.  Sir George Shaw Knowles was an Australian public servant and diplomat. He served as departmental secretary of the Attorney-General's Department, and was then the inaugural Australian High Commissioner to South Africa.
