Re-generation Brains – Discussing regenerative medicine in brains with Dr Kiara Bruggeman

Presented by ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃCollege of Systems & Society

You’ve heard it said that brain cells can’t heal, but that’s not the whole story. After all, you built your brain once, so why can’t you do it again?

Join Dr Kiara Bruggeman, a charismatic speaker and senior lecturer from ANU, for an exciting seminar on nanomaterials being developed for regenerative medicine in brains.

This seminar is for anyone interested in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.

Dr Bruggeman is a biomedical and nanotechnology engineer. She builds materials that mimic healthy brain tissue, using them alongside stem cells to promote recovery after stroke, traumatic brain injury or neurodegenerative disease. A Superstar of STEM 2021 and ABC Top 5 scientist 2020, her seminars are as fun to watch as they are interesting.
