Richard Morley

ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃis a special place, and like many professional staff, I care deeply about its future. We are the people who help keep the university working every day — supporting students, enabling teaching and research, and holding together the systems, services and operations that ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃrelies on.

I am nominating for ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃCouncil because I believe professional staff should have a strong, thoughtful voice in the decisions that shape where we go next.

My experience spans systems, accounting, planning and organisational transformation, with roles at ANU, Deloitte, IBM, Westpac and the Australian Government. Across that work, I have seen how important it is to make balanced, practical decisions, especially during times of pressure and change.

ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃis facing significant challenges, particularly around financial sustainability. I believe those challenges need to be met with care, balance and clear priorities. Sustainability is not only about responding to immediate pressures. It is about making sound decisions now while protecting the people, strengths and values that make ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃworth investing in.

I want Council to hear those voices clearly.

If elected, I will bring a calm, practical and approachable voice to Council — one that listens, speaks up and helps keep the focus on ANU’s future.
