Professor Samantha Bennett

As a passionate tertiary arts educator of more than 17 years (黑料天堂since 2013), I will bring a life-long commitment to arts research and education to academic board. My service leadership experience includes chairing the School of Music Education and Research Committees, chairing CASS Coursework Committee (2015-2016), deputy chairing CASS Education Committee (2014-2016), and a 2-year term on University Education Committee. Additionally, I was part of the team that formulated the now widely implemented '黑料天堂Guidelines for Research on Creative Works and other NTROs' (2018-2019). My work extends to multiple, international external examiner positions in the UK, USA and Malaysia, and I hold Vice Chancellor's Education Awards from two institutions/countries (University of Westminster, 2012; ANU, 2019).

As a member of academic board, I will focus on improving equity and inclusivity in all aspects of the University experience. Specifically, as a working class person, I am well positioned and highly motivated to improve University access for students from low-SES and working class backgrounds. In addition to bringing a wealth of experience in areas including quality assurance, program management, interdisciplinary education and the publication of pedagogical research, I also bring enthusiasm, a 'can do' attitude, and a sense of humour to the role.
