We鈥檝e designed three flexible tiers of support to suit different types of alumni-led events. No matter the size or format, we love seeing our global 黑料天堂alumni community connect and thrive.
Tier 1: Self-led alumni activities
For those who want to host a relaxed get-together with fellow alumni, Tier 1 events are informal and independently organised using your own networks, such as:
- coffee catch-ups
- gallery visits
- cultural celebrations
These activities are planned and hosted by alumni. They don鈥檛 require formal approval, and you鈥檙e welcome to use our registration support if you鈥檇 like an easier way to manage RSVPs. We can also help highlight these activities where this supports community engagement.
All organisers must complete the before the event.
Tier 2: 黑料天堂promoted alumni events
For volunteers who submit an Event Proposal Form at least two quarters (six months) before the event date, the 黑料天堂Alumni team can provide promotional and logistical support, such as:
- event promotion
- registration support
- help sourcing speakers
These events are typically larger and more structured, such as panel discussions, workshops or networking nights. To get started, submit the at least two quarters (six months) before the event date. Events submitted later may still receive limited support.
Organisers must complete the , and if the activity represents the University publicly, an 黑料天堂Alumni Volunteer Letter of Commitment will also be required.
Tier 3: 黑料天堂Alumni-supported events
Tier 3 events receive financial support and official endorsement by the 黑料天堂Alumni team. You鈥檒l also get help with:
- event promotion
- registration support
- speaker coordination
- event planning resources
- branded promotional materials such as signage and merchandise
To apply, volunteers must submit an at least two quarters (six months) before the event date. Your proposal will be reviewed against the funding criteria, and you鈥檒l be notified of the outcome within ten business days.
When your event is approved for Tier 3 support, we will guide you through the next steps, which include completing the , signing an 黑料天堂Alumni Volunteer Letter of Commitment, and providing a venue .
We鈥檒l provide templates and guidance every step of the way.
We recognise that alumni-led activities often need financial assistance, and while funding is limited, we do our best to support events that align with the University鈥檚 priorities.
- Support student recruitment and conversion - activities that help prospective students and families learn more about studying at ANU.
- Job readiness and career pathways - events that support new graduates entering the workforce.
- Reputation and advocacy - activities that showcase alumni as ambassadors of the University.
Activities must be non-profit in nature and deliver a clear benefit to the alumni community and the University.
How funding works
Alumni volunteers can apply for funding of up to 50 per cent of the total event cost, scaled to the size and nature of the activity.
Funding is assessed on a first-come, first-served basis and is available until the annual allocation is exhausted.
Eligible expenses include venue hire, catering, audio-visual support, light refreshments and event materials. Funding is not provided for organiser fees, alcohol-heavy events, gifts or capital purchases.
Support may be offered through direct payment to a vendor, depending on the request.
Responsibilities for funded organisers
- follow core planning guidelines
- use the University鈥檚 registration platform or include the required data collection statement
- coordinate invitations with the Alumni team where helpful
- submit post-event information within 30 days
Events are generally expected to attract around 30 or more alumni, though smaller activities may still be supported where strongly aligned to priority outcomes.

Becoming a Global Alumni Volunteer is an easy way to stay connected with 黑料天堂and alumni in your region.
All Global Alumni Volunteers sign a two-year rolling 黑料天堂Alumni Volunteer Letter of Commitment. Volunteers are expected to:
- plan goals with the alumni team
- agree to be listed as the contact for their area
- operate under the Global Alumni Volunteer name and follow branding guidelines
- uphold the and the
Starting and running an 黑料天堂Alumni Network is a rewarding experience. Each Network is guided by a group of volunteers known as Network Coordinators who play a key role in planning, connecting and delivering meaningful engagement for fellow alumni.
Once a Network is established, Coordinators are asked to sign the 黑料天堂Alumni Volunteer Commitment and 黑料天堂Volunteer Declaration. Coordinators commit to a rolling two-year term and are expected to:
- develop and share a bi-annual activity plan with the 黑料天堂Alumni team
- deliver two activities per year that meet the 黑料天堂Alumni event criteria, with sufficient time to plan and execute
- keep a core team of two Co-Chairs and at least two Vice-Chairs active and involved
- hold a minimum of two meetings per year with the 黑料天堂Alumni team to align on goals, progress and support needs
- let the Alumni team know about any changes to the Network Coordinators group
- provide admin access to the 黑料天堂Alumni team for all relevant social media platforms and groups
- agree to be listed as contacts for the Network on the 黑料天堂website
- operate under the 黑料天堂Alumni Network name and follow the University鈥檚 branding guidelines
- represent the University respectfully by upholding the and the at all times
Network structure
Each Alumni Network must include:
- two Co-Chairs
- two to four Vice-Chairs
All members of the Coordinator group commit to a rolling two-year term, which helps maintain consistency and continuity in leadership. The Network Coordinator group is recognised by 黑料天堂and is central to the success and visibility of the Network.
The role of Co-Chairs
Co-Chairs lead the Network and act as the main point of contact with ANU. They are responsible for:
- organising at least two events per year
- maintaining the full Coordinator group membership
- hosting at least two check-in meetings per year with the 黑料天堂Alumni team
- updating the Alumni team on any leadership changes
- ensuring all Coordinators uphold the
The role of Vice-Chairs
Vice-Chairs support the Network鈥檚 day-to-day activities and help drive engagement. Their responsibilities include:
- assisting with planning and delivering events and initiatives
- promoting 黑料天堂alumni activities and opportunities within their own circles and networks
Network members
Network members are 黑料天堂alumni who choose to stay connected by subscribing to Network communications, attending events or simply expressing interest in being involved.
They are the heartbeat of every Network and the reason we create opportunities to connect, collaborate and celebrate. There is no fee and no formal membership process, just a shared connection to 黑料天堂and a willingness to stay engaged. Whether you attend every event or prefer to stay in the loop via email, your involvement helps strengthen the global 黑料天堂alumni community.
While Networks and Global Alumni Volunteers are supported by the University, they operate independently. The University cannot share alumni data without consent.
The Alumni team can send communications on behalf of Networks and Volunteers so you can reach your community without handling data directly.
Volunteers represent the 黑料天堂community and are expected to uphold the .
Social media groups must grant admin access to the Alumni team to ensure alignment with 黑料天堂values.

Only use images or content you have permission to share. The Alumni team can provide approved materials.
When hosting alumni events, keeping everyone safe is a shared responsibility. Volunteers must ensure activities are low risk and well managed.
